Scope and Contents

This collection provides users with a visual of Central Piedmont's history from 1963-2009. Most images were taken for marketing purposes, or by student photographers of The Prospector and The Spark (1969-2001). Born-digital images have not yet been added into this collection. Finding Aid will be updated in time.

Abstract

A collection of photographs, slides, and negatives, in both color and black and white, documenting Central Piedmont people (Students, Faculty, Staff, Administration, and Board of Trustees); Central Piedmont Campuses; and Central Piedmont events.

Arrangement

This collection is arranged into four series. Series I. Buildings, Series II. Educational Programs, Series III. Programs and Services, and Series IV. People.

Custodial History

College photographs were transferred to the archives in 2011 upon retirement of the college’s photographer, Tom Covington. More images, slides, and negatives were tranferred to the archives department between 2016-present by Chris Record and Darnell Vennie.

Accruals

Future accruals are expected from the Marketing Department (CMPR) and the College Photographer. The photographs currently generated by CMPR are born-digital and will be listed as such in the finding aid upon processing.
